Landlord/Tenant: The Virginia Residential Landlord Tenant Act sets forth the rights and responsibilities for tenants and landlords with respect to occupancy of rental units for all single-family and multifamily dwelling units  located in Virginia. It does not apply to commercial real estate.

Easements: There are many types of easements, but generally speaking, an easement is a right to use another property owner’s land for a specific purpose, such as crossing over one's property line in order to access your property. Easements are generally recorded with the land records division in the county where the property is located, and are conveyed with the property in the event of sale/transfer.
